With vision loss, you may not even know it’s going. Vision screening can find conditions you didn’t know you had – conditions that slowly rob you of your sight. Find out how
Welcome to Saving Sight Rhode Island!
We are a non-profit organization, serving low-income Rhode Islanders by providing vision screening services, referrals for ongoing vision care and treatment, and corrective eyeglasses. We conduct screenings for children and adults, and we focus on the under-insured or non-insured population, who are most likely to have undiagnosed, unrecognized vision problems.
Young children are a high priority because we want to identify problems before they become serious issues that can cause permanent vision loss and even blindness.
The elderly are another priority population because many vision problems become more common as people age. If we can identify these problems early, we can slow the progression of vision loss, cure some conditions, and prevent serious vision impairment or blindness.
Diabetes often leads to vision problems that can be alleviated if they are identified at an early stage. Our screenings find such problems.
